 THE CONSOLES

The consoles are ceramic, handmade from chamotte sandstone (containing grains of sand). The clay is fired between two and three times at temperatures of between 900 and 1400 degrees. During this process, the object becomes as solid as stone. It is through assembly, modelling, sculpting and the various firings that the object reveals itself. Clay is a material that is almost 'alive' because of its movements between drying and firing. Each piece is unique. The curves are irregular and imperfect, and the dimensions may vary slightly.

The consoles are numbered and signed, and available to order within 8 to 10 weeks.
